How to edit a Minecraft skin

MyPixelSkin edits the actual pixels in a 64×64 PNG. The model choice changes arm geometry; it does not change the file resolution.

A safe editing loop

Open the Editor, choose Classic or Slim, and select the face chip you want to inspect. Keep the model consistent with the skin you plan to import.

Use pencil for single pixels, eraser for transparent pixels, and picker to sample a color already on the canvas.

Use fill inside the selected face. The fill is face-limited, so it will not spill across the UV layout.

Use Undo and Redo after a stroke or fill. The local draft is saved in this browser while you work.

Toggle Base and Outer when checking overlays such as a hat, hair edge, hood, or sleeve detail. Then inspect the rotatable 3D preview.

Download the PNG when the front, sides, and back look right. The export stays 64×64 and can be imported again for a round-trip check.

Classic and Slim are both 64×64. Classic uses 4-pixel-wide arms; Slim uses 3-pixel-wide arms. Slim is not a higher- or lower-resolution format.

FAQ

Can I edit only one face?

Yes. Select a body part and face, then use fill or pencil. The face-limited fill keeps the edit inside that region.

Does the editor upload my draft?

The editor saves the working draft in this browser. Export and import are user-triggered file actions.

What if the model looks wrong?

Switch between Classic and Slim, then inspect the arm width in the 3D preview before downloading.
